Friends of Scully
Here are some of my friends from School.
They all wanted to be on my homepage,
so I've satisfied their wishes.

Myself, Mary and Laura doing the Three Evils thing at school in Year 11 (1995).

Herbie
Glenyce Smith

I've known her since her family came to the Charlton area in 1986... gee that was a long time ago! She has now taken up residence in Bendigo with her family.  Like us, her family had lots of chooks when they lived in Buckrabanyule, but free range instead of caged layers. She loves Volkswagons, the Internet, shopping (spendaholic), doing sign language, and hopes to work with people with disabilities. A quote from year 12: "It's not the way he wears his clothes, it's the way he wears his beanie."
Obsession
Mary Brindley

The name says it all. This is one weird chick. She came to Charlton in 1991 and we have been both best friends and worst enemies since. We just love to bicker and fight, but we'll always be friends. Characterised by her long, thick black... she insists it is brown, hair and waif figure...(if even that), she has a habit of finding something and becoming totally obsessed with it. Be careful not to bait her too much; she'll snatch it right off you and throw it in your face. She's also a capable horsewoman, but you won't catch her riding dressage, she's more likely to be hooning around over a few big logs, most recently on a crazy appaloosa called Splash
Mez is now engaged to Julian (Vyper) and is living in Bendigo, having a fantastic time nightclubbing and generally enjoying herself.  Most often repeated line: "Males!"

Herbie, Drac, Obsession, Hamlet the dog, and myself in 1997.
Fornax
Rachel Monaghan

She came to Charlton in 1984 and was one of my best friends right up until she moved to St. Arnaud in Grade 6. She came back to do year 12 with us girls at Charlton, while still living in St. Arnaud.  I guess she just couldn't keep away from us! I started Pony Club about the same time as her (one month later actually) and we rode together on many occasions, until she swapped to St. Arnaud PC. She still rides, and has a Thoroughbred with a totally warped brain called Rocky. Now Rach is in Geelong studying Environmental Engineering at Deakin and her family has moved to Halls Gap.

Rachel with her hair in pigtails, in our first Year 12 room, 1996.
Luv Chunx
Laura McRae

Came to Charlton in 1985, and was my best friend in Grade 4, but at the end of the year she went to Swan Hill. Yet again, she's another one who couldn't stay away from little old Charlton and in 1993 her family returned. Why the name...? Well, she went through a stage where she had a couple of guys after her, and one day while mucking around in Art, Pez called her "Miss Love Chunks 1994" and a little trophy was made to commemorate the award. It stuck. She follows Geelong Footy Club... and gets rather annoyed when they lose. She has a hankering for gossip and seems to know what everyone is up to.  Yet somehow she gets away with never letting anything that she does get around! Now Laura is studying child care at Geelong, and her family has moved to Apollo Bay.
Dracula
Jessica Buckley

This lover of all things Gothic and gory, came to Charlton in 1993. Always used to have her head in some horror book, and complained repeatedly about being bored. At one stage she managed to catch the horse-riding bug, but she sorta threw it off. I don't know how. She still has her nag, but doesn't ride. Drac is studying Science (Chemistry major) at Swinburne University now, and is living on campus.

Back in Year 11, 1995. Mary, Glenyce, Laura, Jessica, and I.
Pez
Josef Lynas

Pez has lived in Wooroonook, near Charlton all his life and has been going to school with me since I started. He's really into bodyboarding... (his bedroom walls are adorned in blue waves with a patch of flourescent colour), and spends a great deal of time at Wye River, getting all the girls and managing to pick up a bronze medallion... Well done mate!
Joe is a tall, scrawny sort of guy with a wacky humour who can be downright loony at times. He's good fun to have around, and is prone to just drop in when he's home to stuff around on computers or go shooting with us. Joe is now studying Natural Resource Management at Dookie and has been christened with a new nickname, "Oasis"
Gerta
Mark Gretgrix

Mark is a fellow Wooroonook person who moved from the farm into town last year. This guy just lives for football (yet another Geelong fan) and cricket. He plays footy for some town which I can't remember the name of, and also plays A Grade cricket for Charlton.
Mark is now studying Applied Science at La Trobe in Bendigo and has changed from the shy, sweet, innocent boy to a more outgoing, open minded guy.  He's still what he always was though, and can still talk the leg off a chair!
Freak
Evan Fathers

Yet another person who I've grown up with... only this one comes from the other side of town, out at Barakee. A quiet person, who does the right thing, and goes to church every Sunday. His father is a stock and real estate agent and Evan knows a few tricks of the trade. Studying Environmental Engineering at RMIT.
Minnie
Melinda Judd

Yet another person born and bred in Charlton. I can even remember doing finger painting together at Kinder! Min is one of those people who knows everyone, and is nice to everyone, and is naturally good at just about everything! She plays a lot of netball in winter, and tennis in summer, and in year 12 was our School Captain. The fact that she's blonde has no bearing on her intelligence, and she managed to get fantastic VCE marks! Min is now studying Science at Melbourne University and is enjoying college life to the fullest!
Bec
Rebecca Smyth

Another local girl whom I've aways known. Bec is a very outspoken person, who is never afraid to voice her opinion, no matter what the topic. She won't put up with any bull, so be careful never to get on her wrong side... not saying she has a bad side of course...  Bec has deferred from her uni course in Bendigo and worked in a solicitor's office in St Arnaud last year. I think she will be going back to school this year.
Kingy
Marcus King

Marcus has been in Charlton since Prep, and his parents run the local Post Office... yep, boring old snail mail. He's good at all that maths and graphics stuff... and is the resident atlas and enyclopaedia of all things about the world. He was our School Captain (not that he did a great deal), and has a cute little car to drive around. He studies Civil Engineering at Melbourne Uni and managed to fit in a trip to America in the middle of the year!

Herbie, myself, Mary and Rachel, dining in Bendigo for Mary's 18th birthday.

The Group getting late in the night at out Year 12 Dinner.  Myself, Laura, Glenyce across the back, Evan, Marcus, Rachel, and Mary sitting on the floor.

At Mary's lunchtime birthday party in the school canteen, 1995.  Back row: Laura, Rachel, Louise.  Front Row: Glenyce, Jessica, Mary.

What my friends say about me.
This is kinda interesting.
I gave them a free rein on the keyboard...

Obsession: It looks like I get first crack of the whip! Scully has a mind that, when established, is eternally set! Me and her, well, we have a definate "love to hate" relationship thing happening. Constantly bickering on subjects that have no relevence to our daily lives, but nevertheless prevents the symptoms of boredom from setting in. Her affection for horses is quite apparent when you walk into her home, the sashes and trophies littering practically every room in the house. For her future... I think she is the "once a farm girl always a farm girl" type. So check her out on the Dressage circuit if you ever want to catch up with her.

Herbie: Hello, hello. Scully's crazy friend here... well one of them... Scully needs to get out more...[I know, I know. Scully] She is on OzChat too much... (I'm envious!!) When she's not chatting, she might squeeze a bit of the ole' HW (homework) or horse riding. Scully has an essential diet of the X - Files, more for the story lines than perhaps David Duchovny's sexy self... (She does have a soft spot for the beastie!)
Because of her access to the super highway... until the wee hours of the morning, she has the means and opportunity to check out what sort of guys really hang out online... She is totally honest... so if she doesn't like you... watch out coz you'll be ditched!!! So perhaps I've said enough now... I'll leave with a big Herbie ZZZOOOOOOOOOM and the knowledge that now all the world has access to Scully's -must have bookmarked page- and that we are now all famous because you know about us!

Pez: Scully's pretty cool, although, as Herbie said, she is a bit of a social outcast. I agree... Get out of the house you... you horsie freak!

Fornax: I wish you guys would stop giving Scull hell about becoming more sociable, none of you have competed for your state in a international competition have you??????.....Didn't think so!!! So the horse freak isn't as sociable as some, I know but, she's as good a person as anyone else I know, if not better...now can I have my money Scull? I must be on my way now, I have holidays to plan and shopping to do with the money Scully just paid me to say that.......NOT!!!! [I didn't offer you any money... just the opportunity to be immortalised on my homepage! (Scully)] Scully has been my longest lasting friend, and will always remain one.
